Our American Cousin, a new opera by Eric Sawyer and John Shoptaw, tells the story of Abraham Lincoln's final evening through the eyes of the actors and audience at Ford's Theater. These fully-staged world premiere performances feature the acclaimed Boston Modern Orchestra Project. Stage direction is by Carole Charnow, General Director of Opera Boston, and Gil Rose, Music Director of Opera Boston and Artistic Director of BMOP, conducts.

The performance coincides with the release of a commercial recording of the opera on the BMOP/sound label, distributed by Albany Records
