Recent appearances include Opera Boston, Operatunity Performing Arts Center, Chaminade Opera, and the Brockton Symphony Orchestra, in productions of Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito (chorus), Massanet's Cendrillon (Prince) Britten's Noye's Fludde (Voice of God), and Strauss's Die Fledermaus (Alfred). Earlier engagements include College Light Opera, Buckley Performing Arts Center, and the Orpheum Theater. Summer 2005 brought Mr. Merchant to Longwood Opera as part of their summer concert series, performing scenes from Puccini's La Boheme (Rodolfo) and Verdi's Rigoletto (The Duke). He studies voice with Andrea DelGiudice, and coaches with Elaine Smith-Purcell. He graduated from Rhode Island College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre.
