Alex Richardson Alex Richardson’s recent engagements include the his debut with Opera Southwest as Camille in Lehar’s Merry Widow, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte with the Ft Worth Symphony, Fenton in Falstaff with Amarillo Opera, the tenor solo in Shostakovich’s From Jewish Folk Poetry at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, the role of Ruiz Alonzo in Golijov’s Ainadamar for his Atlanta Symphony debut and a tour to the Ravinia and Ojai Festivals with this orchestra as the Bullfighter in the same piece. In 2005 Mr. Richardson completed his second apprenticeship with Santa Fe Opera, singing the role of the Soldier Ruiz Alonzo in Ainadamar with this company. Other opera roles include the role of Rodolfo in La Bohème, Count Almaviva in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, the title role in Britten’s Albert Herring, and Flute in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, among others. Mr. Richardson made his Carnegie Hall debut singing Orff’s Carmina Burana, and has been a concert soloist in such venues as Avery Fisher Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, the 92nd Street Y, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Trinity Church – Wall Street, the Austrian Cultural Forum, and the Boulder Bach Festival, as well as several recitals and concerts across the country. Concert repertoire also includes Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde and Handel’s Messiah, among others. Alex Richardson is on the Marilyn Horne Foundation roster, and he appeared on their “On Wings of Song” recital series in the 2005/2006 season and also recently completed a residency and recital for the Horne Foundation in
