Joengcheol Cha
Bass-baritone
New England Finalist 2011

Bass-Baritone Jeongcheol Cha, born in Ulsan, Korea, completed his B.M. and M.M. in Seoul National University and has won numerous competitions including the grand prize from Busan Silla Competition.  He has appeared in many concerts and operas as the leading parts in Korea, Japan and France, and was quoted in Korean Herald as ‘acting was outstanding, displaying puckish humor and exasperation… his charming singing voice…’ for his Leporello in Seoul City Opera’s production of Don Giovanni.  Jeongcheol was also honored to appear in a Gala Concert in Seoul under the baton of Maestro Myung-Whun Chung.  In summers of ’07, ’09 and ’10, he participated and completed the Dalton Baldwin Academy in France.  He is currently pursuing his second master’s degree at Bard and studies with Ms. Lorraine Nubar.
