Ellen PutneyMoore

Ellen PutneyMoore is a graduate of The New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where she graduated with honors. While there, Ms. PutneyMoore appeared as Alma March in Little Women, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, and Public Opinion in Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld. Ms. PutneyMoore has sung the role of Giuliano in the North American premier of Cavalli’s Eliogabalo at the Aspen Opera Theater Center, where she spent two summers. Previously, Ms. PutneyMoore was a Festival Artist with Opera New Jersey, singing the role of Pitti-Sing in The Mikado and covering the role of Katisha. She has also been a Resident Artist with The Tri-Cities Opera, where she has performed the role of Maddalena in Rigoletto, Miss Todd in The Old Maid and the Thief and Martha in Faust. Awards include the Irene Stare Award for Vocal Excellence while at The New England Conservatory and the Maestro Circle Scholarship while at the Aspen Music Festival. Ms. PutneyMoore did her undergraduate work at The University of Michigan, where she received Bachelor’s degrees in Vocal Performance and American Culture. This fall she made her Lyric Opera of Virginia debut as Flora in La Traviata and will join Chautauqua Opera for their 2012 Summer Season.
