Maria Levy

2001 Preliminary Judge

Maria Levy was appointed Managing Director of Connecticut Opera in July 1999. Previously Ms. Levy spent thirteen years at The Pittsburgh Opera first as Director of Communications and the last five years as Director of Artistic Operations. In that capacity, she suggested casting for the mainstage productions, negotiated contracts, supervised the young artist program (Opera Center) and supervised the Music and Production Departments. Before joining the Pittsburgh opera staff, Ms. Levy had worked for San Diego Opera, also under the leadership of Tito Capobianco.
