Kevin Murphy

Kevin Murphy was recently appointed the Director of Music Administration at New York City Opera. Mr. Murphy, a pianist and conductor, just finished his tenure as Gerard Mortier's Head of Music at the Opéra National de Paris. He was the first pianist invited by James Levine into the Lindemann Young Artist Program at the Metropolitan Opera and continued at the Met as an assistant conductor for fifteen years. He has collaborated in recital and concert with many of today's finest singers including Kathleen Battle, Cecelia Bartoli, Michelle de Young, Placido Domingo, Renée Fleming, Nathan Gunn, and Heidi Grant Murphy.
