Shanel Nand
Soprano
New England Finalist 2003

Soprano Shanel Nand, a native of Elkhart, Indiana, earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from St. Olaf College, and went on to complete her Master of Music in Vocal Performance at Boston University.

Last year Ms. Nand was selected to participate in Placido Domingo's Operalia World Opera Contest in Paris, France. With Longwood Opera, she has performed the roles of Lucy in The Telephone, Barbarina in The
Marriage of Figaro
, Ann in Jeffrey Brody's premiere opera The Measure of Love, Gretel in Hansel & Gretel, and Pamina in The Magic Flute. Ms. Nand has also appeared as Josephine in HMS Pinafore with Janus Opera. Upcoming engagements include singing the title role of Carlisle Floyd's Susannah with Longwood Opera.

Ms. Nand studies voice with Maria Spacagna and coaches with Sondra Kelly.
