Jason Abrams

New England Finalist, 2004

A native of Auburn, NY, Jason Abrams will receive his Graduate Diploma from the New England Conservatory this May, where he studied with Carole Haber and John Moriarty. Mr. Abrams may be seen this summer at the Tanglewood Summer Music Institute where he will be a featured soloist with the Tanglewood Symphony Orchestra, and will appear in both recital and oratorio performances. Last summer, Mr. Abrams was a Studio Artist at Central City Opera where he was the recipient of the Starkey Young Artist Award. His operatic credits include Oberon in Boston University Opera Institute's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream under the baton of William Lumpkin, and most recently the role of Endymione in New England Conservatory's production of La Calisto conducted by Christopher Larkin. In addition to opera, Mr. Abrams has been a featured soloist in Handel's Messiah with the Catalina Chamber Orchestra of Tucson. Mr. Abrams earned his Master of Music from the University of Arizona where he studied with Robert Swensen and Dr. Paula Fan and earned his Bachelor of Music from James Madison University.
