Corey Bix

Corey Bix, tenor, earned his Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory in May 2004. He is originally from Clarinda, IA, and did his undergraduate work at Simpson College in Indianola, IA. There he was seen in many roles including Don Jose in Carmen, Flute in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, and The Beadle in Sweeney Todd. Mr. Bix spent the summers of 2001 and 2002 as a Young Artist at the Des Moines Metro Opera. Besides performing several comprimario roles for this company, Mr. Bix was seen in scenes performances as Captain Vere in Billy Budd, Male Chorus in Rape of Lucretia, Grigory in Boris Godonov, Prunier in La Rondine, and Nemorino in L'Elisir d'amore. This coming summer, Mr. Bix will be a Young American Artist with Glimmerglass Opera.
